First Chakra: Muladhara
In this vigorous asana class, we work with strengthening and stretching the legs, creating grounding and steadiness, and centering the nervous system. You’ll need to have a tennis ball available for this practice.
Muladhara Grounding Meditation
We begin with Sama Vritti pranayama practice to calm the nervous system. We orient toward the earth, the element associated with the root chakra, contemplating your local natural surroundings. In this meditation we focus our attention on the breath, cultivating a steady mind.
Svadisthana Chakra Class
In this vigorous asana class, we work with opening and strengthening the hips and flowing as water flows, the element associated with this chakra.
Svadishtana Chakra Meditation: Mudita
We begin with a water drinking meditation, as water is associated with the second chakra. We then cultivate joy and pleasure, qualities associated with this chakra.
Manipura Chakra Asana Class
In this vigorous class we work with strengthening the core, fostering our discipline, commitment, passion, and determination.
Third Chakra Meditation: Tratak
In honor of the third chakra, which is associated with the fire element, we will work with a candle-gazing meditation. The instructions are simple: watch the flame of your candle without blinking. This will cause the eyes to water, which is considered cleansing. If you must blink, then as with most meditations, just begin again. As thoughts arise, let them go, offering them up to the flame.
Anahata Asana Class
In this heart chakra class, we foster an open heart and a strong back as both a physical and spiritual practice. We work toward opening our hearts to the whole world, tending to any resistance or hesitancy that we may find on that path.
Anahata Chakra Meditation: Tonglen
Tonglen is a Tibetan word for “giving and taking”. In this meditation we work with breathing in and out of the heart, touching on practices of lovingkindness, compassion, letting go, gratitude, and generosity.
Visuddha Chakra Asana Class
I invite you to have a playlist available of songs you can’t help belting it out to in this throat chakra class! Here we work with opening the neck and shoulders, freeing the voice, and speaking honestly and with integrity.

Visuddha Chakra Meditation: Mantra
In working with the throat chakra, we recite the mantra Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu (may all beings be happy and free). You are welcome to chant it outwardly or inwardly to bolster your communication, strengthen your authentic voice, and enhance integrity.
Ajna Chakra Asana Practice
In this asana class we work to hone our intuition, vision, imagination, and capacity for magic. You are invited to practice with eyes closed, to foster alignment from the inside out. You are offered interspersed periods for self practice, connecting to your own inner sense of what movement might serve you.
Ajna Chakra Meditation: Vipassana
We begin with chanting the sound of Om 6 times and the practice of alternate nostril breath. We then settle into vipassana (insight) meditation, watching whatever arises.
Sahasrara Asana Class
This chakra has to do with our sense of connection to the whole, interdependence, and perspective. In this class we work toward all of the inversions, noticing how the learnings from being upside down could inform our way of being in the world.
Seventh Chakra Meditation: Samyama
Here we work with the practice of Samyama, observing different objects and beings around us, contemplating their qualities, and considering those qualities within ourselves.
